Insomnia |

Insomnia is a symptom, not a stand-alone diagnosis. By definition, insomnia is "difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep, or both." Most adults have experienced insomnia or sleeplessness at one time or another in their lives. An estimated 30-50% of the general population are affected by insomnia, and 10% have chronic insomnia.
Insomnia may result from either psychological or physical causes. The most common psychological problems include anxiety, stress, and depression. In fact, insomnia may be an indicator of depression. Many people will have insomnia during the acute phases of a mental illness.
As solutions, here are some of the possible treatment:
- Exercise regularly (emang udah jarang sih)
- Avoid large meals and excessive fluids before bedtime (kalo kemaren malem, emang nggak tahan lapernya...maap :p)
- Control your environment (udah terkontrol kok, tapi lagi banyak pikiran sih...mau gimana lagi)
- Light, noise, and elevated room temperature can disrupt sleep (panas kali ya). |

Pertama denger pas nyanyi Nessun Dorma, langsung nangis aku...huhuhu. Nggak pernah denger lagu itu dinyanyiin dengan buaaagguuus banget, rasanya Pavarotti aja kalah feel-nya. So, apalagi artinya.....MUST BUY !!!

Kemaren aku terlibat obrolan beberapa orang yang lagi mempermasalahkan kalo orang muslim nggak boleh balas salam dari orang yang non-muslim. Banyak pendapat tentang masalah ini, aku bukannya alim ulama yang tau segalanya (ibarat lagunya DEWA aku hanyalah manusia biasa...hehehe) so aku nggak mau komen pendapat orang lain. Yang aku pegang cuma pendapatku sendiri.
Gara2 sering jadi korban tentang masalah yang satu ini, aku tulis aja entry kali ini. Mukaku yang terbilang kayak orang Cina sering dipandang remeh pas aku ngomong "Assalamualaikum" (peace be upon you). Banyak orang yang terus pasang muka heran, marah dan diam seribu bahasa tanpa membalas salamku. Malah ada yang terus marahin aku tanpa tedeng aling2. Kadang aku sih diem aja...males mau cari musuh, tapi setau aku (dan aku hampir 100% pasti) malah kalo kita tak jawab salam orang...kita la yang berdosa. Emangnya orang cina, bule, negro dll itu nggak boleh jadi muslim (very stupid kan kalo ada orang mikir gitu). Kalo aku liat malah kadang2 banyak dari mereka yang jauh lebih baik agamanya dari orang2 yang sok2 baik trus meremehkan orang lain. Diri sendiri aja belon bener, mau belagak ngurusin semua orang....geli kan. Kalo aku mau anggap serius kejadian2 itu sih bisa aja...itu kan perlakuan yang menjurus ke Rasisme. Tapi sekali lagi kan orang sabar disayang Tuhan. Kalo kata orang Jawa juga, "Yang waras (maksudnya yang nggak gila), ya ngalah toh"....hehehe.
Here's a thought yang ditulis orang lain dari Malaysiakini.com. Pendapat orang lain2, tapi jangan paksakan semua pendapat kita ke orang lain. Yang penting niat, kalo niat kita baik...Insya Allah semuanya jadi baik.

As another traveled Muslim, it frustrated me to watch the movie ‘Kingdom of Heaven’ on Astro where greetings of peace between Muslims and Christian were censored along with the speech made by the character Balian before the attack and siege of Jerusalem by Salahuddin's army. This speech referred to a city where lay the ruins of the Jewish temple, the Christian church and the Muslim mosque, all in worship of the same god (an excellent statement for inter-fatih reflections).
‘Assalamualaikum’ generally means ‘peace be unto you’ (or, ‘peace be with you’) and the appropriate general non-Muslim reply is ‘Mualaikumsalam’ which means ‘peace be also with/upon you’ in the Arabic language.
Why is it in this my country, a majority of fellow Muslims propagate a monopoly over who can and cannot greet one another?
Years ago, I remember attending a dinner held by the People's Progressive Party (PPP) attended by a crowd numbering in the hundreds with the then deputy prime minister Pak Lah as the VVIP in attendance.
PPP president M Kayveas ended his opening speech with parting words of 'Terima kasih', ‘Shyer Shyer ni’, ‘Romba nandri" and ‘Thank you’. And then my beloved Pak Lah took to the podium for his opening speech. And he said:
‘Dato Kayveas, you have expressed your thanks in four languages but you forgot to say ‘Assalamualaikum’. Which in Arabic simply means 'Peace be upon you'. The proper reply by non-Muslims is 'Wasalamualaikum' which in Arabic means 'Peace be also with you'.
‘The proper reply by Muslims is ‘Wasalamualaikum waratu'allah’ which invokes the name of Allah as the one true God.’ Pak Lah continued:
‘Nobody should have a monopoly over the Arabic language and I say to all of you present here, Muslim and non-Muslim to reply appropriately in Arabic if you choose to.’
Parts of this BN component party’s dinner function was broadcast over Malaysian TV channels RTM and TV3. Unfortunately and immaturely, their editors censored the opening part of Pak Lah's enlightening and warm speech.
So as I stand here, frustrated yet reassured, a travelled Muslim on the long, long road journeying towards changing the attitude of some of my fellow Malaysian Muslims, I say to one and all Malaysians of every creed, colour, religion or atheist ‘Assalamualaikum’ and I will hear your whispered (and perhaps censored) replies accordingly.

Ibarat kata pepatah, orang sabar disayang Tuhan.
Tapi sampe dimana batas kesabaran seseorang.
Lain orang, lain batasnya....
Yang aku rasa hari ini, memang dah bener2 keterlaluan.
Temen sih memang temen, tapi aku rasa tetap perlu ada batasnya. Bahkan ama sodara sendiri aja, belon tentu aku bisa sesabar ama temen sendiri karena lebih ada chance untuk putus hubungan dibanding kalo ama sodara sendiri.
Privacy adalah sesuatu yang penting bagi aku.
So, bagi sesiapa yang nggak bisa menghargai privacyku ya nggak usah bertemen ama aku aja.
Susah nanti jadinya...
